Special Services

Our regular "Special Service" is the Queensland Pioneer Murder Mystery train which normally operates on the 4th Saturday of each month.

Past Event: THE TRAIN-IN

Join us at Queensland Pioneer Steam Railway for a night of  film, fun, food and dress ups on our first "Train In" featuring the ORIGINAL GHOSTBUSTERS MOVIE.

Beginning at 6:30 you will enjoy a 20 minute train ride to Swanbank by the Lake where an old-time outdoors movie show will take place in the grounds of the station before returning around 9:30. With affordable food available to snack on while you watch the movie and a prize for best dressed this promises to be an excellent night out for the whole family.

THE QPSR TROOP TRAIN

On the 14th of August we are turning back the clock, putting up the posters and the bunting and waving goodbye to the troops who are going to serve in the Great War and the Second World War.Looking to make things bigger and better then last year, both QPSR and the Centenary of ANZAC Committee are providing displays from both world wars at both stations on the QPSR branch line!
See the vehicles that served in both world wars that transported men and supplies to the front. Learn the dances the troops would have danced as they mingled with the ladies.
Learn about the battles and travel with the troops on the train. See the troops performing drill at the race horse paddock, see the light horse and camel squadrons, meet with the yanks at Swanbank and feel the earth shake as a WWI steam roller trundles around!
There will be something for everyone; but seats are limited!

From 4pm on Saturday July the 30th 2016- Bundamba Racehorse Hotel

Join us as Christmas comes early to the railway and steam into the night were all is fair in love, war and rail travel. The evening includes all entertainment, a two course meal on the well appointed Racehorse hotel terrace and a 30 minute train trip in 1900's varnished timber carriages through the twilight bushland surrounds of the former West Moreton Coal Mines. 


This murder mystery is coming to you for Christmas in July and is another interactive, dinner theatre production from InsideOutside Theatre Company staged as a joint presentation with Queensland Pioneer Steam Railway.

Renowned private detective Erin Dawes has taken on a new assignment and it is very close to her heart. Set in Santa's Grotto, this murder mystery will keep all you amateur detectives on your toes as you try to crack the case.

Served up over a freshly cooked two course meal at the Racehorse Hotel and a trip on the steam train. So dig out your Christmas jumpers, hats and baubles and join us for a night of fun, good food and intrigue.

The venue is fully licensed.
