  • Where Do We Join The Train?

    On Picnic Trains, Passengers Can Join at SWANBANK, or RACECOURSE Stations
    On Market Trains we can only make pick ups at RACECOURSE Station

From Brisbane: Ipswich Motorway to Riverview continue along Brisbane Road past Bundamba State School and take the left before the railway level crossing.
From Ipswich: Take Brisbane Road as far as the Hungry Jacks then turn right on to Stafford Street and then your next left onto Videroni Street.
From Warwick: Cunningham Highway, take Swanbank Off Ramp, turn left at ‘T’ Junction, onto South Station Road, right on Brisbane road, then follow Ipswich instructions. 

From Toowoomba: Warrego Highway, take Dinmore Off Ramp, follow signs to Ipswich, follow Brisbane Road past Bundamba State School and take the left before the railway level crossing.

SWANBANK STATION - SWANBANK COAL ROAD, SWANBANK - Operating for Picnic Trains only

From Brisbane: Ipswich Motorway to Riverview, take Cunningham Highway 7.7km to Swanbank Off Ramp, turn left onto Swanbank Rd.
From Ipswich: South Station Road from Booval Shopping Centre, this forms Swanbank Rd.
From Warwick: Cunningham Highway, take Swanbank Off Ramp, turn right at ‘T’ Junction, onto Swanbank Rd.
From Toowoomba: Warrego Highway, take Dinmore Off Ramp, follow signs to Warwick, take Swanbank Exit.


Once on Swanbank Rd, go past the Power Station, take the first left and follow around lake up to Train Station.

How Much Does it Cost?
  • ​Our fares vary between our trains but they can be found on our Bookings Page

How Often Does QPSR run?
  • We aim to operate public services 3 times a month between April and December and once a month during February and March

What age does QPSR cater to?
  • Our train can be enjoyed by people from 1 to 100. However we've found that our Market Trains are great for young families with kids under the age of 10, while our longer trips to Swanbank appeal more to a family with older kids. Our Dinner trains & Murder Mystery trains are a real hit with couples and groups who want a great night out near Brisbane.

How long is the trip?
  • Market Trains take 30 Minutes.
  • Picnic Trains take 90 Minutes.
  • Queensland Pioneer Dinner trains take 4 hour
 
Is there parking?
  • Yes, Racecourse station has side road parking available at 90 degrees to the station, while Swanbank has a designated car park

​​Is there food & drink at Swanbank?
  • QPSR is pleased to offer limited snacks and a fair selection of drinks at Swanbank Station. We do recommend packing a picnic for these trips.
 

Are there wheelchair facilities?
  • QPSR has limited wheelchair facilities available but please contact us via the booking office prior to traveling so we can make preperations
 
Do you always run the Steam Train?
  • While QPSR tries to always provide steam motive power on Market and Picnic Trains, due to the nature of steam locomotives, we may substitute a heritage diesel locomotive on part or all of a service.
